Intrepid Travel

Intrepid is a small group adventure travel company, offering over 300 trips in over 50 countries, specialising in 'off the beaten track' adventure.

The adventures

Intrepid Travel focuses on meeting real people and exploring very real cultures. You will travel on anything and everything that moves, from trains and riverboats to rickshaws and elephants - never a tour bus. You'll stay in a wide variety of accommodation, from family-owned guesthouses and homestays to national park lodges and Maharaja's palaces, rather than a hotel chain.

Activities are also arranged, such as trekking or sight-seeing. The focus is on freedom and flexibility, and you can choose what to do.

Group sizes are kept small, for the benefit of both you and the places you are visiting - there are never more than 12 people in a group. There is a wide range of trips, including ones for families, ones for independent travellers and fundraising trips for charity.

Update: Intrepid have recently launched a range of 'ultimate eco-friendly adventures' which uses local transport and trains to cover vast distances, instead of flights.
