The placements

The majority of Madventurer projects are set in poor rural communities. You can help build facilities such as school buildings, clean water systems and toilet blocks. Or you may choose to help in health care, medicine, journalism, sports coaching and conservation projects. On top of this, you are given the chance to teach in the local community, often helping to improve pupils' standard of English. This means you can integrate with the local people - something that isn't always possible with independent travel. No experience of building or teaching is required.

Madventurer will only embark on a project if it has been clearly demonstrated to be sustainable. This means that you won't be giving a simple handout, but that the community will have it within their means to maintain the finished product.

Constructing a bridge to link local children with local schools in rural Thailand
Range of sports coaching opportunities in Fiji to inspire activity and passion for sport in primary schools and local teams

Adventures

If doing a project wasn't enough fun, Madventurer also offers incredible Adventures. You can combine a project and Adventure or do an Adventure on its own!

Raft the Nile in Uganda, trek the Inca Trail in Peru, summit Kilimanjaro, travel on a horse in the Dogon valley or explore the tropical island of Fiji – all this and more is a great way to make a career break unforgettable.

How long?

Madventurer projects typically last anything from two to five weeks up to 2 months or more, with the option of an adventure in addition to this. Any medical, orphanage, sports coaching and other independent voluntary work placements are available from 2 – 52 weeks year round.

Prices

2 weeks: £800
5 weeks: £1,250
2 weeks plus: £800 plus £150 for every additional week

The cost of a placement includes pick up from the airport, accommodation and food, support and advice from the UK office before departure, plus professionally trained in-country crew on hand throughout prjoect.
