Mondo Challenge

Volunteer on rural community development projects around the world with www.mondochallenge.org

The placements

MondoChallenge offers career breakers from all over the world a chance to make a difference to communities in developing countries. You can live and work as a volunteer in a spectacular location in Asia, Africa or South America, and gain first hand experience of an indigenous culture. You could be participating on assignments such as teaching English at village schools in the Himalayas, or giving marketing advice for bee-keepers in Africa. Although MondoChallenge programmes are mainly focused on providing long-term educational opportunities for people in poor rural communities, they also include work with local partners; helping with business development, health and conservation projects.

A typical three-month placement on a project would provide a volunteer with the opportunity to give something back to those less fortunate than themselves, combined with the opportunity to travel abroad. MondoChallenge projects aim to give you skills and experience, as well as helping others. Volunteering will give you increased confidence, improved communication and organisational abilities and enhanced people-management skills – not to mention helping you become re-charged, de-stressed and re-motivated in the process.

MondoChallenge is usually able to accommodate partners and children. Volunteering couples receive a discount.
