Oyster Worldwide

Oyster Worldwide gives you the chance to volunteer or work abroad, in a sustainable placement that brings tangible benefits to the community.

The programmes

Oyster Worldwide's placements are carefully selected to help you get the most out of your time away.

You will

  • Do a proper job and make a genuine contribution
  • Get to know the local people and their culture
  • Develop new skills and strengths
  • Make great friendships and have an amazing time.

You can volunteer or choose to earn a wage. Either way you’ll have the time of your life.

There’s also plenty of scope for making your time out a practical learning experience, as well as an adventure. Some of Oyster’s placements will help you get fluent in Spanish, Portuguese or French. You can get valuable teaching experience, try your hand as a sports coach or train as a basic ski instructor in Canada. Those who are interested in medicine, health care or conservation will find projects to boost their experience too.

It’s not just about learning skills: you will have a great time. Oyster will normally send you out as a group so you can share the experience together. Most placements offer a trek or safari and there’ll be plenty of opportunities for extra adventures while you’re out there.
