Way Out Xperiences
Way Out Experiences. Volunteer in marine and orangutan projects in Malaysia.
The placements
With the Great Marine Project you can play your part in turtle conservation on the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia. You can volunteer for 2 or 4 weeks and take the chance to learn to scuba dive. When volunteering on the 4-week programme, you will help with an after-school marine club which teaches the children about marine conservation and how actions on the land affect the sea.
The Great Orangutan Project offers opportunities ranging from an intensive 4-week programme at a wildlife centre (where you will participate in orangutan rehabilitation), to a 2-week safari collecting vital migration data on the highly endangered pygmy elephants and counting night nests for wild orangutans.
All WOX experiences connect volunteers with critically endangered animals. Each project has clear conservation goals and objectives so you know your contribution is ultimately helping to increase the wild populations for specific endangered animals.
