Central, South and South-East Asia

These regions offer a wealth of diverse career break opportunities. South Asia and South-East Asia are great for volunteering and backpacking, while Central Asia has more opportunities for adventure travel (there are a few volunteer opportunities there too).

• If you want to do paid work in this region, teaching English as a foreign language is your best bet.
• Volunteer opportunities in South and South-East Asia tend to focus on community projects and working with children. This enables you to get a real feel for the country, as you will be living and working amongst the locals.
• The different religions across the region will have a big impact on your travels, especially if you're lucky enough to be there at festival time!
• Backpacking and overland travel are popular in South and South-East Asia, whereas adventure tours are a good bet for Central Asia and the Middle East (they keep you safe, and enable you to be responsible).
• OMG, the food!
