If you feel that you need to do something meaningful with your life, a volunteering placement in this L'Arche community could be for you.

Whether you’re interested in living and working in a Christian community to build a better world or contemplating a career in Health and Social Care and want to gain unique skills, a career break volunteering with vulnerable adults could be for you. You don't need to be a Christian - the community is diverse and welcomes everyone who is committed to mutual respect, understanding and having fun!

You will be part of the oldest L'Arche Community in the UK. L’Arche Kent is based in the historic city of Canterbury and its surrounding countryside since 1974. 140 people live here - some with learning disabilities and some without. You don't need to have previous experience working with people with learning disabilities if you want to volunteer here, as you'll be trained - plus you'll learn an amazing amount on the job!

You will be helping people with learning disabilities live independent and meaningful lives. You will be a key part of developing and shaping their world, and will find yourself growing and transforming as a result.
