Working on your career break is one of the best ways to fund your travel. Plus, you'll get to know a country and its people much better than a tourist ever will.
Here's an overview of your options:
- TEFL - see our separate TEFL section for more on this.
- Working holiday visa schemes in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Japan - you have to be under 30.
- Become a ski, snowboard or watersports instructor, or crew yachts - see our courses section for how to get qualified for all of these.
- Seasonal work - in winter and summer resorts. Some places provide free training too.
If you're on sabbatical, check your contract to make sure you're allowed to do paid work on your career break.
